Documents Required for HACCP Certification

  1. The application should be submitted according to the MFPI specified template (Annexure-I).
  2. A detailed Project Report of the organization indicating along with the activities/background of the firm.
  3. Income Tax Returns of the proprietor/organization for the past three years.
  4. A copy of the permanent SSI Registration, or an Industrial Entrepreneur Memorandum (IEM) or Industrial License, whichever is appropriate.
  5. A copy of the FSSAI License is given to the organization applying for the license.
  6. Experience / Bio-Data and quotes from the consultant.
  7. Quotation from the certification body.
  8. Information about the proposed plant and machinery (item-wise and cost-wise)
  9. Complete information about Technical Civil Works indicating item cost/wise break-up.
  10. An affidavit, duly completed on non-judicial stamp papers of Rs.10 or more, duly notarized affirming
  11. A detailed implementation plan.
  12. The amount of expenditure that is proposed to be incurred in the project, indicating consultant fees or the amount that the certification organization charges.
  13. The person responsible for implementing ISO 14000 / ISO22000/ HACCP/GMP/GHP must be licensed.
  14. The organization applying for a grant has to ensure the employee training program.

HACCP Certification Procedure

HACCP certification process in India includes the following steps:

  1. Filing Application

An application containing the basic details about the business is the first step towards obtaining HACCP certification. The authorities must approve the application and enter all necessary information in the HACCP database.

  1. Application Review

The team will examine the complete application to ensure that compliance has been met.

  1. Price Quotation and Gap Analysis

After reviewing the documents, the consultants estimate the cost to the prospective client. They also conduct a Gap Analysis to cover all the areas of the quality standard. Gap Analysis is performed to examine the gap between planned items and the actual results.

  1. Documentation Review

Documents are inspected to confirm that the documents met the requirements for compliance.

  1. Audit of Documents

The audit consists of two phases.

  • Audit (Stage 1)

Audit stage 1 refers to the company's documentation process and policies when it comes to the requirement for compliance. Check the documentation in the management system to confirm that compliance requirements have been adhered to.

  • Audit(Stage-2)

The auditor checks that the enterprise is performing according to the documentation. When the auditor recognizes any non-conformities, the auditor can reconcile the non-conformities. Audit stage 2 consists of the following elements.

    • Check the method of execution according to the organizational document.
    • Corrective actions to be taken if any violation.
    • Ensure that the work instructions and the execution process is being adhered to by employees.
  1. Issue the Certificate

Certification Body Certification Body will issue a certificate of compliance valid for 3 years.

  1. Re-Certification

Re-certification is the procedure that takes place after three years.
